This request was granted on November 25, 1612. The same letters patent granted crests to the two brothers: Charles was given a crest with an image of Jehanne Darc (St. Joan of Arc), holding in one hand a sword topped by a gold crown and her banner in the other hand, with the war-cry "La Pucelle!".
