Along with his brother Luc, filed a petition to gain the right to
quarter the arms of du Lys and Darc. This request was granted on
November 25, 1612. The same letters patent granted crests to the two
brothers: Charles was given a crest with an image of Jehanne Darc (St.
Joan of Arc), holding in one hand a sword topped by a gold crown and
her banner in the other hand, with the war-cry "La Pucelle!".
In 1630, he received three letters from the city of Rheims which had
been sent by Jehanne (Joan of Arc).
